Having trained as a ballet dancer at the Australian Ballet School, Deb was exposed to the benefits of both Physiotherapy and Pilates from a young age. She received both her Physiotherapy degree and Sport Science degree from the University of Sydney.
Over the years, Deb has taken extensive post-grad training in Physiotherapy, including the ISM model and Thoracic Ring Approach (LJ Lee), a Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy (Manual Concepts) and Advanced Muscle Energy Technique courses (Barb Hungerford). She divides her hours at Polestar between hands-on Physiotherapy treatments in the rooms, and Clinical Pilates in the studio.
Deb completed her original Pilates training with Polestar Pilates in 2003 and completed her Diploma of Professional Pilates in 2009. She has been on the Polestar teacher training faculty as a Principle Educator, examiner, and continued education presenter for the past 10 years. Deb completed Post-Graduate Pilates training in 2010 with Rael Isacowitz from BASI in the USA and is currently a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Pilates Alliance of Australasia.
