Jane Leathwood

Pilates Instructor

Jane qualified as a physiotherapist in England in 1992. After 2 years of working in general areas of physiotherapy, including orthopaedics and sports injuries, she pursued her interest in upper limb injuries. For the next 18 years, she worked in the field of Burns and Plastic Surgery, specialising in hand injuries. During this time she enjoyed keeping fit with yoga, Pilates, swimming and Jazzercise, especially after the birth of her son.

When she and her family moved to Australia in 2011, Jane discovered the Polestar method of Pilates for the first time. Fascinated by the precision and effectiveness of this style of Pilates, she immediately joined the Mat course, qualifying in 2012.

She feels her physiotherapy background is invaluable in her Pilates teaching, and frequently draws on her knowledge and skills to assist people through periods of injury and discomfort.

As well as teaching Pilates at Polestar Australia, she works in a private physiotherapy practice, treating clients with hand and upper limb injuries.
